Granite is formed from liquid magma that cools slowly to form a substance approaching the hardness and durability of diamond. While there are many different granite colors, each with their own name, they are all comprised of three essential minerals: Feldspar, Quartz, and Mica.  These minerals occur in different proportions, giving each unique type of stone its own color, texture and structural characteristics. Other minerals add to the unique coloration and texture of each granite deposit. With natural material like granite, a certain amount of “movement” or variation in the stone must be expected. Granite is a beautiful option for countertops and can be used for outdoor applications as well.  Granite does require sealing, the frequency will depend on its usage.
